The Zoomo Cargo bike is not just a mode of transportation, but a symbol of modern urban mobility. Its unique design is a blend of the old and the new, drawing inspiration from the classic cargo bikes while incorporating modern materials and features. The bike is made from alloy and carbon, lending it a sleek and contemporary appearance. Integrated lights and display add to its modern aesthetic.
What sets this electric cargo bike apart from others is its unique driving features. A well-designed steering mechanism allows the driver to lean into corners, just like on a regular bike. This feature not only makes the bike easy to drive but also enhances its safety. The bike can comfortably accommodate one adult and two children, making it a practical choice for urban families.
The design process for the Zoomo Cargo bike was a meticulous one, spanning 12 months from the first sketch to the final product. The project was developed in Croatia, with a team that included Asbjoerk Stanly Mogensen, Luka Jelaska, Christopher Krainer, Mina Nada, and Sasa Stih. The team went through 50 sketches before finalizing the current design, which then went into the 3D phase and finally the prototyping phase.
One of the key challenges in the design process was to keep the weight of the bike down to a record-breaking level. Given that the bike has a race bike DNA, it needed to be light. However, the added weight of a battery and a motor posed a significant challenge. The team overcame this challenge by using untraditional materials for an electric bike such as carbon and kevlar instead of metal and alloy.
Zoomo Cargo's design is backed by extensive research in aerodynamics and weight ratio to stiffness of the frames. This method is a new approach in the electric bicycles industry and has not been explored before. The result is a product that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional and efficient.
In conclusion, the Zoomo Cargo bike is a testament to the power of innovative design and the possibilities it holds for the future of urban mobility. It is a perfect blend of form and function, offering a practical, safe, and stylish solution for urban transportation. Asbjoerk Stanly Mogensen's design has truly set a new standard in the field of electric cargo bikes.
